DDU parcels facing increased customs challenges
As a result of the EU VAT changes that went into effect this summer, DDU parcels destined for Ireland are under increased scrutiny by government customs officials in the country. Delays are lengthy and a spike in returned-to-sender packages is noticeable with shipments, as well as is cited in this article in The Irish Times.

Brazilian Post and airlines experiencing backlogs
Due to backlogs in the Brazilian Post’s (Correios) airport operations at Guarulhos Airport in Sao Paulo (GRU), shipments will be delayed up to 4 days before arriving at their processing plant in Curitiba (CWB).
Customs clearance delays
Poste Italiane has informed that there are currently delays in the processing and customs clearance of mail items. While they are working to clear any backlog, further delays are likely in addition to those as a result of any COVID-19 restrictions.
SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19
The USPS is suspending shipments to Australia beginning Sept 3rd due to COVID-19. This comes as a result of a pause of parcel pick-up by Australia Post.
This service shutdown affects ALL DDU and IPA service levels which are the 2 Passport service levels we have in our checkout to Australia.
Until further notice, we cannot ship to Australia. Any shipments placed BEFORE September 2nd were still packed and shipped as normal. We apologize for the inconvenience!
Expect delays due to flooding
We have been advised by Germany’s post that exceptionally heavy rain has caused extreme flooding, mainly in the west of the country. This has led to destruction, disruption or closure of regional and national roads, including motorways. The post’s infrastructure has likewise suffered damage. Consequently, postal services in large areas of western Germany are currently interrupted. There may be delays of 1-3 weeks destined to Germany.
Expect delays due to COVID-19
We were advised by Jamaica Post that the government has extended a national curfew until Aug. 10. Revised working shifts/hours will continue to apply across the postal network, affecting sorting operations, mail delivery and dispatch of mail vans, as well as timely electronic data messaging updates and responses to online customer inquiries. A force majeure continues to apply with an impact on quality of service for all types of mail.
Expect delays due to flooding
Luxembourg Post advises that there are disruptions to service in parts of the country due to flooding that has affected transportation and led to some evacuations.
Destination Country Scanning Issues
We have been alerted that some destination countries practicing contactless delivery have suspended written proof of delivery, which means that accurate delivery scan data may not be provided.
This applies to parcels bound for Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, The Netherlands, Lithuania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Russia.
Some countries are beginning to suspend delivery services. The US Postal Service will continue to accept and process mail destined for the aforementioned countries. This mail will be held within the USPS network and will be delivered once mail service is restored. However, KontrolFreek recommends customers from the following countries not place orders for the time being until we have been alerted that services are resumed.

Orders placed between 5:00AM (EST) on Fridays and 5:00AM (EST) on Mondays will be processed for shipment on Monday mornings. We do not process orders for shipment on Saturdays, Sundays, or on postal holidays!
When ordering from outside of the United States, customers are responsible for paying any and all customs fees associated with the importing of your order as described by the laws of your country.
